At the far edge of a freshly plowed field, cool blue water winds through autumn grasses and trees filled with coral, gold, violet and deep woodland green.
This painting began outdoors, where I first captured the landscape in a plein-air study. I later returned to the scene in my studio to create this colorful finished interpretation.
Painted in acrylic on a 5 × 7-inch Ampersand art panel, the original is protected with a hand-rubbed cold wax finish for a soft, velvety sheen. It is displayed without glass in a decorative gold-finished wood frame.
