I’m Kelly Brown, a Minnesota painter inspired by wildlife, vintage Americana, quiet interiors, gardens, and the beauty found in everyday life. A lot of my paintings begin with things I’m naturally drawn to — waterbirds along Minnesota lakes, old barns, flowers from the garden, antique dishes, or the feeling of light moving through a room.

I love subjects that feel peaceful, nostalgic, and quietly expressive. I work in acrylic, oil, gouache, cold wax, and encaustic finishes, building soft layers of color and texture that give the work a painterly, handmade feel.

Years ago I began creating tiny encaustic paintings under the name “Little Wax Paintings,” and that love of small, intimate artwork still influences everything I create today — from miniature studies to larger original paintings and fine art prints. I want my work to feel collected over time — personal pieces that bring warmth, color, and a sense of story into a home.
