Dresser Doily Blooms is a joyful little still life inspired by the layered patterns and treasured details of a vintage dresser.
Loose pink blooms and cheerful yellow flowers spill from an intricately patterned vessel resting on a delicate doily. Soft lavender, turquoise and blush tones create a dreamy background reminiscent of faded floral wallpaper, while touches of vivid pink bring the arrangement to life.
This original painting was created in gouache watercolor and finished with encaustic wax. The wax gives the artwork a softly luminous surface and subtle handmade texture that cannot be captured fully in photographs.
